A named anchor is a link that links to another section on the same page. Named anchors are often used in FAQ pages, where clicking on a question near the top of the page will jump to an answer further down the page.
Netscape Navigator was an web browser used extensively in the first 4 years of the WWW. During that time it was by far the most widely used browser. Use of the browser went into free-fall when Microsoft started bundling their Internet Explorer browser with the Windows operating system.
AOL purchased Netscape Corporation and continued developing the browser for a while, but pulled the plug in 2008.
